Rachel Helen is the pen-name of Rachel Lopiccolo - author, former primary school teacher, educational resources creator, and mum of two.
She has a BA honours in History and a PGCE in primary education. She has lived in the shadow of Pendle Hill all her life and has always been intrigued by the history and folklore of her local area.
Having wanted to be a writer since childhood, Rachel had several articles about teaching published by Times Educational Supplement and was subsequently commissioned by Schofield and Sims to write two educational books. She has also regularly produced resources linked to popular children's fiction for an online teaching resources website.
She finally achieved her ambition of having a novel published in 2019 with 'The Curse of the Pendle Witch' and has since completed her Pendle Witch trilogy. She is currently working on another historical fiction novel inspired by further research into the witch trials linked to the Pendle area.
She released the first book in her Words of the Dead series in July 2022 and has more ideas for the series, all of which are inspired by folklore and ghost stories.
